With the warmer weather here in Calgary, I'm looking to head out more with my camera and take some photos.
What I'd really like is a few photos of the downtown Calgary skyline, but I don't know where some good vantage points are. More specifically, I don't know how to access certain areas via Calgary Transit or just walking. One area that I've heard is decent is Tom Campbell's Hill by the Zoo.
Any ideas?

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
My female betta, Bridget, had been pretty desperate for a larger tank, so I put her in my 29 with about a dozen Platties. I'd done the research, knew there was a risk, and watched carefully on the first day to make sure there were no problems. It had been going perfectly fine, and I knew things could change from day to day, so I've been spending the whole time watching quite carefully.
Well, yesterday was a fasting day for the tank, and the Platties seem to have...pecked at Bridget's side while she was asleep. She's not bleeding or even acting like she's in pain, but there's a pretty big hole on her left side behind the ovipositor, roughly twice the size of her eye.
Is there a chance I can save her? I've moved her back into her old 2.5 as a quarantine, but I don't have any meds on me other than Bettafix from when my male was chewing on his fins, and I didn't want to leave home in a panic and pick up the wrong thing, so I'm posting here first. What would you recommend?

Hey everyone!
I'm having a bit of trouble keeping peace between my fish. I recently added 3 rosy barbs. A male and two females. Well, the male is the biggest fin nipper I have EVER seen. He is CONSTANTLY chasing his ladies around and stressing them out! he leaves the green neon tetras alone and my bristlenose alone...but those ladies! SKIRT CHASER.
Anyway...is there anything I can do to stop this? My poor girls are all tired and scared! Always hiding!
For the record...
20 gallon. 8 neon green tetras, 2 bristlenose, and 3 rosy barbs.

This came up in another forum and since I know we have a couple of members that work or have worked for LFSs and Big Box stores: Did your store ever provide employees with training about what to recommend when a fish needs to be euthanized (either for health reasons or because the owner can no longer keep it)?
Hubby and I are looking for some like-minded (and aged) Magic: The Gathering players in the city. We just got back into it after a loong time, so we're not looking for "pros". I'm 25, he's 32, we have a family, so we're just looking for some cool people to casually play and trade with.
If enough people are interested, I'm thinking of making a calgary mtg community or something.
We've been to a couple shops (Sentry Box, Phoenix, Myth Games), but the guy at Sentry that we dealt with was a d-bag, and I think the people that frequent there are wayyy more into it than we are at this point, and we feel like us newbs were annoying them. We're comfortable with the rules and we're building up a half-decent library, but we're still learning to fine-tune our deck building skills, and read up on the zillions of expansions that have come out since either of us played in the past.
So, it would be great to hear from some people. C'mon, what's more fun than beer and magic?

Where might one purchase a small can of lima beans in the vicinity of The Core, at a reasonable price? They don't have any where I normally get groceries, I wasn't aware that they were a specialty item.
This was my tank one year ago:

This is my tank as of today:

I feel it's a vast improvement. Added another piece of driftwood, cabomba, red lace sword, and some mystery plant that's green and purple/brown and spiky.
( More! )
Once I put my EBJD into a new tank, I think a betta or a pair of gouramis or a pair of golden rams will be an excellent way to complete my happy little community. :]

Does anybody know about any good assisted living facilities for YOUNG people in Calgary? Google just brings up a list of retirement homes.
My husband's cousin is 22 years old and looking for a place to live. She has cerebral palsy to the point where her mobility is limited to typing and feeding herself with one hand. She is also able to propel herself across the room with her legs if she is in an office chair. She is non-vocal.
She is intellectually completely normal, so she would love to find a place that is more for people with just severe physical disabilities. Her current place in Edmonton makes her feel fairly isolated as most of the other clients there are also mentally handicapped.
I understand that she may have to go through an assessment process through the health region, but I was hoping some of you would know about what's available around here.

Has anyone here ever reported/complained to the Alberta Labour Board, or Human Rights Commission about someone. I'm dealing (not well) with a rather irascible situation at work, and I'm wondering if either of those branches were of any help to anyone.
I have a friend who is looking for the New Moon trading cards. Has anyone seen these within the last week anywhere in the city? The packets look like this:

Originally I had seen them at Chapters, but they've sold out. Any help appreciated!

Does anyone know when shops on Kensington close up on Saturdays? Aprox.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Thanks to the jackasses who decided to smash the windows on my car over the weekend, I'm now looking to get them fixed (plastic being lovely and all... but not long term).
Does anyone have any suggestions for the best/least expensive glass repair place? Preference in the south-ish part of the city. (No glass coverage through insurance).
Update: In case anyone else is interested...
Found a decent price at Dynasty Glass ($200 cheaper than Crystal Glass). They use original factory glass. Also have pick up/drop off and loaner car for no extra charge. Good experience. Though still hope to not have to see them again.

I purchased an extra set of tickets for a friend, who has backed out.
Seat location: section 227, row 4, seats 13-14
This is to the right of the stage, second level and 4th row from the front.

I am selling for face value ($72 each) and have the hard copy tickets.
Meet up downtown (or somewhere else fairly central), or come pick up from me in the far SE of Calgary! :)

Hey guys & gals,
Im not sure where to post this but here goes.
I started up my massage business about a month ago, and I'm trying to get more clients to come to my new practice.
I work in the N.W. (around 21st Street & Kensington Road N.W.) I do deep tissue, relaxation, and I just started up Myofascial cupping.
I was wondering if there is some cheaper & less invasive way to advertise (other than handing out business cards to everyone i see)?
Or if someone is interested in booking a massage with me you can email me at K.Sinclair.RMT@hotmail.com
Thanks in Advance!

So, like a tool, I left home this morning without a camera, only to see some of the most dramatic Alberta sky I've seen in quite some time. Call me crazy, but I love these days where the cloud cover just looks so amazingly thick. Anyway, I was hoping someone better-eqipped than myself could take a few moments to snap some photos of the sky before that chinook clears all of this out... particularly the view facing the northwest end of the city.
Thanks in advance! =)
